Online Therapy

In the year 2020, virtual psychotherapy became essential for millions of people. I offered virtual therapy before then, so the transition of my practice to incorporate virtual engagement happened seamlessly.  To this day, about 70% of my practice remains virtual. My clients report that the virtual experience offers them therapy in the comfort and safety of their homes, offices and while on holiday anywhere in the world.  No travel time or costs are incurred and they save time. My South African clients who live abroad often tell me that connecting with a fellow South African is of great comfort to them. My international clients simply stumbled upon my website and resonated with my approach to therapy. For most clients, receiving support where they find themselves is comfortable, and despite therapy having been demystified over the years, some clients prefer virtual therapy to avoid bumping into people they may know professionally or personally.  Contact me and join me on a virtual journey into therapy.

With years of experience in assessment and treatment, I have come to practice many of my own researched techniques to manage the stress of modern day living.  I have practiced mindfulness-based stress reduction to alleviate stress and difficulty in sleeping. I also follow the guidelines of cognitive-behavioural therapy in my own life to maintain my own personal balance. I prefer practicing techniques I use in psychotherapy as I am motivated by results.

 

 My approach as a psychotherapist could be summarised by the following Carl R. Rogers quote: “Before every session, I take a moment to remember my humanity.  There is no experience that this man has that I cannot share with him, no fear that I cannot understand, no suffering that I cannot care about, because I too am human.”
